The Exhibition
Based on my field trips, research, charity organizing and design works, this exhibition showcases the culture and the architecture of Dong people in Guangnan Village (龙胜各族自治县平等镇广南村), featuring numerous artifacts, crafts, architectural models (including a 24" x 24" x 43" drum tower), photography and deliverables of local vernacular architecture. Also included is an introduction to the Guangnan Dong Culture & Architecture Preservation Center, and a presentation of the design of the Center's work station.
Crafted by carpenters from Guangnan and Sanjiang, the model of the Guangnan drum tower is on permanent display at Yale School of Architecture’s Rudolph Hall.
